Sometimes, when the fishing is a little slow it is good to go back to basics.  The Hare's Ear is one of the most popular nymph patterns and a very important one to have in your box.  It is an impressionistic fly to represent a wide variety of aquatic nymphs such as mayflies, stoneflies, and caddis.  I always carry at least 6 each in various sizes from 12 to 18.  It is irresistible to many fish such as trout and pan fish.  When you don't know what to fish tie one of this on as a top nymph or a bottom nymph.

Choose your favorite hook size for your entire dozen or select Assorted for our sampler that contains 3 flies of each hook size (12-18).

Now's your chance to fill your fly box with this staple fly.

*** Our default size assortment includes 12 flies - 3 each of 12, 14, 16 & 18 hook sizes - Send us a message when you purchase if you want a different combination.
