The CP2 Wrap Control Core Golf Grips are designed for golfers who are looking for the highest quality grips on the market. These grips are compatible with club brands like Titleist, Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping, and more, and are made of a high-tech firm yet pliable rubber for a comfortable and a firm feel. Also, additional layers on the lower part of the grip give you better hand control during your swing. With a length of 10.5 inches and a weight of 60
±2 grams, these grips provide excellent control and stability on the course. The set includes 13 grips available in three popular sizes - standard, midsize and jumbo, and is a top choice for golfers seeking quality components for their clubs.

WORN OR OLD GOLF GRIPS WILL AFFECT YOUR GAME

Many golfers fail to realize the importance of good grips. They play the game with the original or same old grips year-after-year and don’t realize that playing with worn-out grips will hurt their game more that they think. Worn-out grips force you to hold on tighter throughout the swing, because you sense the grip is sliding in your hands. This grip tension robs you of a tremendous amount of potential clubhead speed and decreases clubhead control. A tight swing is not fluid and smooth.

1. Getting to know your grips – Wear and Tear

  • Rain, sweat, heat, and dirt are what wear down your grips over time. So, if you find your grip feeling smoother or slick, or you notice cracks, it’s time to replace them. Heat is probably the biggest culprit of grip problems. Most grips are made of rubber materials which can oxidize over time and become slick and crumbly. Also, do not leave your clubs exposed to the heat or sun and do not leave your clubs inside your car or trunk where temperatures can get well over 100 degrees in the summer.

2. Frequency of play should determine grips replacement

  • As a rule of thumb, we recommend players replace club grips once a year, or every 40 rounds. Grips lose a significant amount of their original feel before golfers notice that they need replacing. So, it’s important to have this timeframe in the back of your mind. I have a note where I keep my clubs stored, with the last date of grip change noted.

3. Performance and feel

  • Worn grips won’t just result in flying clubs; they’ll more likely lead to gripping to clubs tighter than necessary.
  • If you notice your shots aren’t as accurate as they used to be, your grips could be to blame. Additionally, if you start to notice your clubs are uncomfortable, or you have more hand fatigue, it could be a sign that your clubs need new grips.
  • For rounds in the summer months, grip matters even more. Based on the weather conditions, regripping your clubs could help you stay on target.
  • One last word: I have seen over-and-over golfers replace their regular irons and wood grips and ignore their putter. If you think about it, the putter is the most used club in your bag. It's grip also needs regular replacement schedule - at least every other year, or so.
