Military-Style Model 27 Phosphorescent Lensatic Compass for Outdoor Navigation

Military-style Model 27 lensatic compass with rugged aluminum construction and phosphorescent illumination. These are Model 27 compasses, not Cammenga 3H tritium compasses. They share a similar military design and overall feel with the Cammenga 3H, but use phosphorescent material instead of tritium for the luminous markings.

The phosphorescent markings require exposure to a light source in order to glow and will gradually fade as the stored light is depleted. Unlike tritium, phosphorescent material does not have a radioactive half-life, so the 12-year tritium decay experienced by the 3H model does not apply to these compasses. Simply expose the compass to light again to recharge the luminous material.

In the hand, these compasses have the substantial, rugged feel expected from a military field compass and feature a durable aluminum housing.

Features:

• Model 27 military-style lensatic compass
• Rugged aluminum construction
• Phosphorescent luminous markings
• No tritium or radioactive illumination
• Requires exposure to light to charge the luminous material
• Durable construction for field and outdoor use
• Lensatic compass configuration

Phosphorescent vs. Tritium:

• Phosphorescent: Must be exposed to light to glow and gradually fades after charging.
• Tritium: Continuously glows without requiring light exposure, but gradually becomes less bright due to radioactive decay.

Included:

• 1× Model 27 phosphorescent lensatic compass
• 1× Velcro-secured carrying case
• 1× Tie-off cord

Important Notes:

• These are Model 27 compasses, NOT Cammenga 3H compasses.
• Illumination is phosphorescent, not tritium.
• The luminous markings must be exposed to a light source before use in darkness.
• Brightness and glow duration will vary depending on the intensity and duration of light exposure.
• Will not ship outside the 50 USA states.
