FAQ

Q: Is it OK for ice fishing?

A: Yes, this light can be used in cold-weather and snowy fishing conditions, including ice fishing.

Please note: The temperature range of -10°C to 35°C listed in the manual refers to long-term storage, meaning the recommended storage temperature when the product is not in use for an extended period of time.

Q: Why won’t my fishing light turn on when I receive it?

A: Don’t worry — this usually happens when the battery has been sitting for a long time and goes into a “sleep” or low-power state. Just charge it for a while to activate the battery, and it will work normally. To keep the battery in good condition, even when not in use, it’s best to recharge it every 2–3 months.

Q:How long does it take to charge?

  • HG-R40 (4000LM): about 5 hours
  • HG-R80 (8000LM): about 8 hours
  • HG-R120 (12000LM): about 11 hours
  • HG-R160 (16000LM): about 11 hours

Q: How long is the battery lifespan?

A:The built-in battery supports about 800 full charge cycles. In other words, if you fish every two days, it can last for around 4 years in theory.

Q: How do I choose the right light color?

A: Based on our experience (not a strict rule):

  • Green: The all-around favorite. Works in almost any spot — saltwater, freshwater, even ice fishing. Great for crappie, bass, catfish, snook, redfish, tarpon, mackerel.
  • White: Super bright, pulls in bigger baitfish fast, and doubles as extra lighting. Common targets: striped bass, trout, larger crappie, big catfish.
  • Blue: Best for saltwater and clear water. The light goes deeper, doesn’t spook fish, and attracts shrimp, squid, mackerel, tuna, swordfish.
  • Cyan: Brighter than blue, combining the brightness of green with the depth of blue. Great for a wide range of species, especially squid and schooling baitfish.
