Ocean Born Flying Darter 180mm (7") Saltwater Fishing Lure

The Ocean Born Flying Darter is a long-casting saltwater plug designed to produce a natural, wandering side-to-side action that imitates an injured baitfish. Developed by renowned lure designer and saltwater angler Patrick Sebile, the Flying Darter is built to reach distant fish while maintaining a subtle, strike-producing presentation in the water.

Its aerodynamic body incorporates side wings, low-friction ribs, and a streamlined shape to improve casting distance—even in difficult wind and surf conditions. Once in the water, the side wings provide stability and a smooth gliding motion, while the molded ribs create additional turbulence to attract nearby predators.

The Flying Darter performs especially well in moderate to strong current. It can be retrieved slowly, twitched, jerked, or held nearly stationary in moving water while the current activates its natural wandering action.

How to Fish the Flying Darter

Allow the lure to swim naturally in moderate to strong current with little or no reeling. Holding the lure in the current and allowing the water to activate its wandering action can be extremely effective.

The Flying Darter can also be fished using:
