This is the premium CNC-machined aluminum version of SRAM's X-SYNC 2 direct mount chainring — the same chainring that ships stock on X01 Eagle builds. It is not the entry-level stamped steel ring and not the mid-tier cold-forged alloy ring — this is the top-shelf, fully CNC-machined option.
Dropping to a 30-tooth ring from a standard 32T gives you a noticeably lower climbing gear, making steep, technical trails and long grinding climbs easier on the legs — without changing anything else on your drivetrain.
