Description
American Fishing Wire (AFW) Surflon 1x7 is a heavy-duty, tournament-grade leader wire engineered to provide ultimate protection against the sharpest teeth and harshest underwater environments. Constructed from premium 1x7 stainless steel strand, this wire is wrapped in a tough, flexible nylon coating that effectively seals out water, limits corrosion, and dramatically increases abrasion resistance. Boasting a formidable 135 lb breaking strength, this .041" diameter leader is ideal for targeting aggressive big game predators like large shark, wahoo, barracuda, and king mackerel. The non-reflective minimizes underwater visibility, allowing for a covert and highly realistic presentation when trolling or live-baiting.
Heavy-Duty 1x7 Construction: Combines seven strands of high-tensile stainless steel wire under a durable nylon jacket for a great balance of strength and flexibility.
Ultimate Tooth Protection: Engineered to withstand the relentless crushing power and razor-sharp teeth of apex offshore predators.
Abrasion & Kink Resistant: The specialized nylon coating cushions the inner steel strands, significantly reducing kinking and protecting against reef or wreck friction.
Reliable Rigging: Perfectly suited for custom rig building; pairs flawlessly with AFW single or double barrel crimp sleeves for a bulletproof connection.
